Spontaneous, automatic, subconscious creations in oils and acrylics on canvas will fill the Gallery like a surreal aquarium of colour and waves of shapes and forms. This exhibition of abstract expressionist fiesta will showcase new and existing bodies of contemporary works by enlightened and accomplished (art awards & CNN Inside Africa Report 2010) Fine art painter, who has exhibited in Art Fairs and shows internationally including the major art markets of London, Tokyo & New York.
Ghanaian artist, Robert Osei Anim (born 1983) attended Ankle College of Art and Design in Accra and Ghanatta college of art where he studied advance painting. He then continue at the kings university college in Accra to perfect his fine art technique of ‘fish round forms’ which is rapidly becoming an ‘art movement.’
Robert’s artwork takes a critical view of social, political and cultural issues. Each painting is often sourced from different inspiration, then grouped together around specific themes and meanings. He has subconsciously soaked up the rhythmic and associative cultural influences of his homeplace Accra, Ghana of dance, togetherness, teamwork and people’s activities. Vibrant, lyrical illusions burst onto each canvas with a passion and excitement racing against each other. These are statements about pride of place, love of connection and the joy of life being lived…..he’s inviting you into his ‘Innermost Expression’
