I love visiting art studios, as one gets the opportunity to interact with the artists. I get to talk about their inspiration, acquire an understanding of their background and artistic journey. To me, it is like getting to know more about the recording artist of my favorite song. I like speaking directly with the artist
The Raw London event truly lived up to its name last week, by showcasing a good mix of raw creative to a mixed crowd of art lovers, art discoverers, like me, fashionistas and people who just wanted an early start to the weekend on a thursday night.
During my research on events for the 25th anniversary of the fall of the Berlin Wall, I was delighted to find Meschac Gaba Museum of Contemporary African Art was on show at Deustch Bank KunstHalle. As the dust settles on FIAC, we recap on the second leg of our FIAC exploration, which involved proceeding to the Officielle satellite fair organised by FIAC. As the eventful Frieze week in London is starting to become a distant memory, we hopped onto the Eurostar and headed across the English channel to Paris for the last couple of days of the 41st Foire Internationale d’Art Contemporain(FIAC) fair and the new Officielle fair.
As part of our FIAC exploration, we were glad to see representations of Contemporary African art at FIAC and the new satellite FIAC Officielle fair for young galleries held in Paris from the 23rd – 26th October 2014.
