Description

Euwitt Nyanhongo is a Professional Sculptor from the multigenerational Nyanhongo family of Sculptors in Zimbabwe, who has exhibited and sold extensive works internationality. I trained under the guidance of my father, Sculptor Claude Nyanhongo, one of the pioneers of stone sculpture in Zimbabwe. I began sculpting full-time in 1993 using springstone, opal, Nyanga serpentine and partly Leopard rock and Lapidolite as my chosen medium, drawing inspiration from the the Nyanga mountains. In my work I portray human’s affinity with nature, animals, birds, spirits and mythological beliefs of the Shona tribe.
