We are looking for a part time Gallery Assistant to work 2-3 days a week during the week,  some weekends and bank holidays.

The individuals will be expected to perform the following:-

  • Set-up, hanging, removal of art works and participate in the curating process in gallery and art fairs
  • Organise and help during Exhibition Opening Events: serving refreshments, greeting people at the door and signing them in
  • Assisting with Social media, updating website, photography, advertising & promotion
  • Responsible for manning the gallery unsupervised
  • Taking payment and recording sales
  • Wrapping art work for customers ad arranging shipment/delivery if required
  • Acquire knowledge about the art
  • Selling of Art and creative pieces in the gallery
  • Cleaning and Tidying Up of the Gallery
  •  Searching the internet for buyers and artists
  • Stock taking, organising the art and accessories in storage
  • Merchanding, changing window display and accessories display
  •  Searching the internet for buyers and artists
  • participate in adhoc duties as required

This position will be suitable for freelancers, students, people interested in the Arts or anyone interested in gaining experience of working in an Art Gallery, organising and participating in Art Events.
The successful candidate will be expected to have the following qualities:-

  • Being able to interact with members of the public confidently
  • Act in a professional manner
  • Reliable and able to use initiative
  • Able to work un-supervise
  • Flexible to work Tuesday to Friday and some weekends and bank holidays  (11 – 7pm, 11 -8pm on Thurs, 12 – 6 bank holiday)
